LIVE EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCES AND SEMINARS

During 2017 Prostate Cancer International, Inc. (PCaI) has conducted two live educational programs:

One of PCaI’s goals is to grow the number of live programs we can offer and to offer them in different parts of the country, where current educational opportunities may be limited.

WEB-BASED PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

PCaI actively manages two widely used, interconnected, informational prostate cancer web sites for the global community:

In addition, we provide some very basic information about prostate cancer through three other web sites:

Other web-based services first made available during 2017 include the following:

VIRTUAL SUPPORT GROUPS

PCaI is currently developing and evolving a new, virtual support system for men who are already living on or considering initial management of their prostate cancer on active surveillance. We recognize that the needs of these men are very different to those of men who need early, definitive forms of treatment for more aggressive form of prostate cancer. We hope to have this fully fleshed out by early in 2018.

We already provide a virtual support and education network for prostate cancer support group leaders in Florida, through which we can help support group leaders to network, share current information, help with a speaker, and related activities.

THE PROSTATE CANCER PROJECT

PCaI is one of the founding partners working with The Broad Institute on the initiation and development of the Prostate Cancer Project — an initiative designed to collect saliva, blood, and tissue samples from large numbers of men with prostate cancer (and initially metastatic prostate cancer in particular). These samples will undergo detailed genetic and genomic testing and analysis in an effort to develop a comprehensive data resource that can help to drive discoveries about prostate cancer and its diagnosis and treatment.
