VIRTUAL PROSTATE CANCER SUPPORT GROUPS
Prostate Cancer International has already developed and evolved:
- The PCaI Active Surveillance Virtual Support Group for men who are already living on or considering initial management of their prostate cancer on active surveillance. We recognize that the needs of these men are very different to those of men who need early, definitive forms of treatment for more aggressive form of prostate cancer.
This group generally meets at about 4:00 pm Eastern time (1:00 pm Pacific) on the second Wednesday of each month. Registration is required to join. Please e-mail Jan Manarite at [email protected] or [email protected]. Just enter “I want to join ASVSG” in the header and your name (or nickname) in the body of the text and hit “Send”. It would help us if you gave us some idea of your age, your diagnosis, and where you live, but that is not essential.
We have also coordinated:
- A virtual support and education network for prostate cancer support group leaders in Florida, through which we can help those support group leaders to network, share current information, find appropriate speakers, and related activities.
Over time we believe it will be possible for us to develop and implement other virtual support groups on specific areas of need (either on our own or in collaboration with others).
